All appointments are conducted through secure video conferencing. During your sessions, you'll receive personalized instruction, demonstrations, guided practice, and a customized home exercise program. Between visits, you'll practice your exercises at home and we'll monitor your progress together.

We work with children, teens, and adults. Young children may need a parent or caregiver present during sessions to assist with exercises and reinforce practice at home.

Yes. Since myofunctional therapy relies heavily on coaching, observation, and consistent home practice, telehealth can be an excellent option. Success depends on regular attendance, completing home exercises, and following your individualized treatment plan.

Your evaluation includes a comprehensive review of your health history, concerns, breathing patterns, oral habits, tongue function, swallowing, and muscle coordination. Based on the evaluation, we'll discuss whether myofunctional therapy is appropriate and develop a personalized treatment plan.

Prior to the initial evaluation, you will need to recieve a myofunctional therapy kit as well as submit photos for review. There is no additional charge for the kit. However, credit card information is required to book the initial evaluation. If the appointment is cancelled without rescheduling, a $25 fee will be charged to the account to cover the materials sent.

Yes. Myofunctional therapy is commonly recommended before and after a tongue-tie release (frenectomy). Therapy helps prepare the oral muscles before the procedure and supports healing, mobility, and long-term functional outcomes afterward.

Yes. Myofunctional therapy can complement orthodontic treatment by improving tongue posture, swallowing patterns, nasal breathing, and muscle function. These improvements may help support long-term orthodontic stability.

No referral is required. However, we often collaborate with orthodontists, dentists, ENTs, speech-language pathologists, lactation consultants, and other healthcare providers to provide comprehensive care.

Every child develops differently, but many children begin therapy around age 4 when they can follow directions and actively participate in exercises. Readiness is determined during the evaluation rather than by age alone.

Most clients should expect to practice their exercises for approximately 5–15 minutes, several times each day. Daily practice is essential for building new muscle patterns and achieving lasting improvement.

Myofunctional therapy is a private-pay service. We do not accept insurance, bill insurance companies, or provide superbills for reimbursement. We do not accept HSA or FSA cards. The intial evaluation may take up to an hour and a half. Myofunctional therapy sessions are scheduled for 45 minutes. Good news, there's no commute to the telehealth appointments!
